Yesterday marked the final day for parents to confirm their school placement choices on the Western Cape education department (WCED) admissions system for grades R,1 and 8 for the 2027 school year.
“Please note that from today the system will automatically place learners based on their highest-ranked available option if they received successful offers. Any unconfirmed offers will be processed accordingly.
Over 46 000 grades R, 1 and 8 learners received multiple offers during the first stage, therefore thousands of places will open up for other learners going forward. We remind all parents and caregivers that this is a continuous active process, with placement offers being made as spaces become available,” the WCED advised.
