ROOTED – The Quest for Personal Discovery
I was reading birthday messages the other day when I came across this line: “Do not count the days of your life, make the days count.” It stopped me. I found myself asking: How do I make my days count?
To make your days count means your life reflects wisdom, perspective, respect, and value for life itself. Dr David Molapo says, “What you feed grows.” Anything you give your attention to grows. We are each given 86,400 seconds every day. Time is money. Wherever you spend it will show dividends.
My neighbor started building his house in February this year. The foundation was deep. Today it’s a double-storey. I wasn’t surprised. I had seen the foundation. The deeper the foundation, the taller the building. Trees that are deeply rooted survive the strongest storms.
Distractions are temporary. Being rooted is permanent. The day you realize the value of your presence, you won’t go just anywhere. The day you realize the value of your time, you won’t give it to just anyone. The day you realize the value of your thoughts, you won’t think just anything.
