Goldfields TVET College held a gala dinner to raise funds for the students’ skills development programme at their Welkom campus.
Phumyezwa Vutuza, the deputy principal and student support services officer (pictured above, right), said the initiative was a huge success. “This was our first step towards building partnerships with our local business stake holders and they responded positively,” she said. The main contributors were Standard Bank and ABSA.
The department of higher education and training also graced the occasion. Dr. Mimmy Gondiwe (pictured above, left), the deputy minister, was thrilled with the success of the event. She delivered the keynote address to the 11 principals from TVET colleges across the provinces.
