The Western Cape department of education (WCED) has advised that there will be no schooling this coming Monday..
David Maynier, the minister of education in the province has advised that there will be no schooling on Monday 15 June.“There will also be no schooling on the following day June 16,” he added, referring to Tuesday’s national Youth Day holiday.
” Therefore,” Mayner reiterated,” All public ordinary and special schools are closed on Monday, 15 June 2026* as it is a national school holiday..Schools are also closed on Tuesday, 16 June 2026*, for the national public holiday.”
Parents can view the national school calendar two years in advance on the Department of Basic Education’s website.
