The meaning of true education
True education is a support system that guides a learner in discovering their unique calling and potential. Every student is different. Every student has his own way of thinking, of understanding and own way of remembering learned material. On top of that, students come from different, unique families with diverse experiences. They come from different environments that shape their ways of reacting to learning conditions and circumstances.
That goes for educators and teachers too. And the combination of educators and learners in any teaching environment makes for a curious attention and scrutiny, making teaching a highly specialized career.
The teacher has to present subject matter in a way that makes sense to an individual. The student must be encouraged to think and digest the subject matter, using all of his senses so that a subject becomes a whole new experience, opening doors and possibilities he has never thought of or been exposed to. This is also important so that the student can have a true concept of what eg, becoming a medical doctor, is truly about.
The goal is to help a student to shape his thought patterns and abilities so he can make a well informed choice of a career that will leave him fulfilled and satisfied for the rest of his/her life.
