EVOLUTION – The Quest for Personal Discovery
Anybody who spoke to you a few days ago should never meet the same version of you. That’s evolution. That’s consistency in developing yourself and adapting to change.
For every training workshop I facilitate, I always ask participants for feedback. I open the floor to both the positive and the negative. Some people call them “deltas” and “pluses.”
*Feedback is the breakfast of champions.*
The ability to open yourself to feedback is what shapes your skill. It also models learning for the people watching you.
After the last Breakthrough Life Skills session, I got my usual overwhelming positive feedback. But there was one negative one.The participant said: “The session was open, but the facilitator spent too much time making jokes.”
That one comment grew my self-awareness. If I’m going to create a joke, it must be in line with the topic. It must serve the message.
Feedback makes learning a partnership. And when that partnership is real, commitment to growth also grows.
*Evolution is taking time to develop yourself intentionally.* It’s being dedicated to a positive self-image, and to becoming a better version of you, every single time.
